RYA/MCA Sea Survival Course

Sea Survival This course is extremely popular with those that use the water for both leisure and commercial activities.

We are finding that more and more leisure water users are keen to improve their knowledge of what to do if things go wrong when afloat. This course would be ideal for you to attend if your activities take you afloat on our coastal waters.

For those that intend taking to the water as part of a commercial activity, this course is of crucial importance. It is a vital part of obtaining the commercial endorsement to your RYA certificate; it is part of mandatory training for fisherman and should be considered as part of any risk assessment when working in or near water with a vessel.

This course covers every aspect of preparation, abandoning and surviving in a liferaft. It also includes a 2 hour session in a heated swimming pool practicing liferaft drill and survival techniques.

Intuition H2O also provides free impartial advice for any company whose activities may require the addition of this qualification to risk assessments or method statements.

RYA/ISAF Offshore Safety Course

offshore sea survival training This course is recognised by ISAF to meet special regulations for certain offshore racing.

In addition to including the Sea Survival Course, it also covers heavy weather seamanship, fire fighting, weather forecasting and pyrotechnics.

It is also proving extremely popular with skippers and crews who have decided the knowledge and experience gained on the course is essential, even though it may not be required as part of the sailing instructions.

If you hold a RYA/MCA Sea Survival certificate, you will need to attend the 2nd day of this course only.

Duration 2 days (1 day if you already hold a Sea Survival Certificate)

Sea Survival, First Aid and Safety Sessions

Intuition H2O can also offer short informative safety sessions. These sessions could be advertised as part of your local club calendar to raise awareness on these issues.

These evenings are designed to be fun and interactive, throughout the course of the session we would give the group the opportunity of inflating gas lifejackets, finding out how cramped liferafts can feel, discovering exactly what is in you liferaft equipment bag, basic 1st aid techniques and depending on certain conditions it may be possible to live fire a range of pyrotechnics.
